Cabela's is Here!
Team Member Allen Shannon reports on his first visit to the new Cabela's store in Buda Texas, South of Austin.
Conquering the Chilly Canyons of the Canadian River
I'm a huge fan of hunting in the panhandle of Texas. Although you don't get the beautiful oaks, thick brush or tall pines that characterize the rest of the state! the sunsets are bigger and the air is colder. The second I heard there was a public hunting area in the panhandle and that it was over 46,000 acres I knew I had to visit it the next chance I got. The hunting area is called Lake Meredith National Recreation Area and it opens up the possibilities of all kinds of outdoor opportunities including hunting Mule Deer, Whitetail, Quail, Turkey, Goose, Ducks and many predators. There is also much to fish for on the big waters of Lake Meredith that the Area surrounds.
Sprigs and Specks on the Texas Coast
I do love the Texas Coast. I don't know if it's the clouds of ducks in the air or the variety of treasures one can reel in from the shallow bays. This trip I was lucky enough to pursue both with Sprigs and Specks Guide Service and two great friends of mine, Adam Todd and Chuck Boorman.
A Dock of Fish With Luck O' the Irish Guide Service
Our Saturday started early. Normally, I am not known to be up very early on a weekend morning, but when your dad gives you a call at 5 minutes to 4:00 in the AM, there had better be a good reason. We had one. < Previous Page Field Reports : Page 2 |
