Jun 21: Unfortunately, the wind (that was supposed to die down), stayed with us all week. I had Steven Morris and family on Thursday for some drifting. We boxed 4 trout, 2 reds, and 8 sandies. The water was dirty and live bait was in order. Thursday afternoon, Christy and I waded until just before dark catching and releasing a few fish. Saturday and Sunday I had Hugh McCulley, his wife Cathy, and their good friends out for some drifting. The bays were brown and we managed a few fish on Saturday and a nice 29 ¼ inch 8 pound trout that was successfully released on Sunday. It was a slow couple of days. With this wind forecasted to continue, wading the flats in West Bay will be the ticket. Most are having good results working the deeper grass with plastics for trout. I have the next weekend open if someone is looking to fish. Also I have some great news coming next week about our Duck, Goose, and Dove seasons. I will post all information in the next couple of weeks. Hunting days will be limited for Dove so you might want to get on the books early. Our “Cast and Blast” will be the best bang for the buck.
