Wow that must be nice! Looks like a good bag there, Ive tried a few public places and not so much luck, Where were you at if you don't mind me asking?

congrats on the hunt!  where did you find those birds.  I have been hunting Anahuac this year and have been doing fairly well myself.

These ducks were shot on public land in a tiny slough only big enough for about one blind.  So as too where in Texas i found these will have to remain a mystery!  Sorry, but i have seen what happens to a place when the word gets around.  We found a public lake about 7 - 8 yrs ago that was the best place i have ever seen!  We could go up there in mid november and see 700-1000 ducks a mourning, half made it into the decoys.  We told some friends who told some friends and so on.  Went back this year for the first time in 4 yrs and saw 30 ducks and had 4 different groups of hunters in less than 1/2 mile (all of which were sky blasting) DURING THE WEEK!!! Before, we would spend the weekend there & maybe see one other group. So, very few people know about this little hidden slough that holds around 500 birds and gets no pressure.  I just hope it will stay that way for a long time.  My advice.  Scout Scout Scout and do your research.

No problem, best of luck to you next year, Im already out scouting some new places but Im on my own duck hunting up here in dallas so  it makes t a little rough. Its a new area for me public hunting as well but ill find some spots, see ya out there!
