There is a ton of public duck hunting in your area, less than a hour drive. Most of it requires a boat but some have walk in access. Look up McFadden and Texas Point NWR. There is Sea Rim and JD Murphy, both state public hunting. All of these are in the Sabine Pass/ Port Author area. A little closer to Orange is Bessie Heights also sate land.

I’ve lived in the area all of my 43 years but don’t duck hunt much any more, mainly because I have no one to hunt with anymore. Drop me a line and I’ll give you some a few details on hunting some of these places.

Anyone know where I can do some squirrel and rabbit hunting? I live in Mauriceville, been here a few years but never found anywhere to hunt. Just found this site today, so I thought i'd ask.
