Is MOJO a FRAUD?

Hi there,

This is my 3rd year of hunting waterfowl, so I'm still a newbie to the game here.  I have a question for the veterans out there.  I went hunting bout three times this week the first and second time hunting I was rollin with the traditional double O decoy spread, some wiggle feeder butts, and the MOJO.  The mallards would work the decoy spread never flying directly over the decoys but to the right, and then fly off.  Gadwalls would always land outside the decoys bout 60 yards away.  I was starting to wonder what was going on, singles would usually commit and come in, but groups weren't having any.  The third day out setup was the same except MOJO went down, so we pulled him from the spread, next thing you know without making a pass 8 greenheads light right in (of course in awe of this I empty my gun hitting nothing and my brother knocks down one) and then a couple minutes later a hen doesn't even work the spread and comes right in.  Also, a group of pintails came in, which I've never had a group of pintails give me the time of day unless it was a solo.  Is the MOJO a NOGO after early teal season?  It seemed like I had more groups of big ducks decoy in that 30 minutes with no mojo and no calling than the previous three hunts.  Any input is greatly appreciated.

It depends on where your at how many mojos these ducks have seen along their migration journey, etc. I have used them and absolutley murdered the ducks and sometimes if its late in the year and everyone is using them they do get shy. Hey they get call shy too later in the year. You just have to use your better judgement on if you should put it out that day.

Yeah the mojo's are hit or miss. They can be good at times but flare the ducks at other times. It just depends what the ducks want at the time from what they have seen over their journey. It sounds like in your area I would leave em down.

I agree with col bee them duck see mojos all the way from canada to here and the season in canada starts sometime in september so the ducks are seeing mojos for close to 5 months. i lived in illinois for 18 yrs and and 2 in missouri. every body had at least one version of the mojo. a lot of them had at 2 or 3

mojos for teal work awesome...esp for blues but the big ducks later in the year are wise to them

use them in the goose field though...extra movement there helps
