Well ur defenitly in a good situation on private land with lots of ducks everywhere.  I would keep it simple no more than a dozen mallard decoys if that, maybe even a half dozen would be okay if the pound is really small.  Place them in lil pairs or groups on one side of the pond.  Anything to give you motion on the water would be awesome too like a jerk string or some of those wiggle feeder butts. Use simple quacks or a greeting calls to catch their attention.  Then let them check out the pond and hopefully they like what they see and come on in.  The key I think will be motion on the water if there is no wind, u want some ripples in the water to make it look like ur dekes are active.   Hope this helps.

Calling the ducks in can actually do the oposite if not done correctly. A good rule of thumb when calling is that less is more. The more you call the more they will catch your calling flaws. Give them a little something then lay off if they are coming in. You can buy a call that comes with a cd that will tell you how to use it best as well as when to use what calls. Also, motion is key to success. Have you ever seen ducks on water without a single ripple of movement? Neither have the ducks, so that is a dead give away that they are not real ducks. Make sure you are hidden very well, you can never have too much cover, and cover your face with paint or a facemask. Your face will stick out like a sore thumb to the ducks in the sky. As you hunt, you will learn more everyday as we all do, no matter how long you have been hunting. and about the calling should you call every 5 minutes or what

I would use a dozen to two dozen decoys. Get some teal decoys and either mallard or maybe gadwall. If you get mallards, just use the hens early season.

I usually only use a peep or whistle call, unless I know mallards are coming in. In terms of calling, I don't use unless I need to get the attention of the ducks, and hopefully when they are turning and not directly overhead.

It is more important that you keep still until the ducks are in range than how much you call. Keep the calling to mininum.

Call when u see the birds or can hear them. as far as the actual calling. youtube is pretty good or the primos how to vid is good to.my opinion on the best way to learn how to call is find the ducks sitting on another pond or a river. and just listen. i am from the midwest and that is how i learned on ducks and geese. i would go fishing and while i was waiting for a bite or casting i was always listening to the birds. hope thats helps. with the dekes biggest thing is give the birds a hole to land into and put that hole where u want to shoot the birds.

I forgot to say with calling when you see the birds watch there reactions. they start to flare let up. call enough to keep the birds coming how you want them to.

I have also had alot of luck not calling if they are already coming towards the spread. Like some others have pointed out "less is more" that goes for volume and amount of calling. Call enough to get there attention, also realize sounds carry further across water and on cold mornings. I think the big things are focusing on camo and blending in, dont forget your face and hands. Try to get an idea of the ducks your working with. Dont place your decoys too close to each other, give them a couple feet of seperation. This maybe alot of random stuff and im sure there is more that im forgetting to mention, but the more you hunt the more you will catch on to trends.
