Duck Hunting in the Houston Area

Guys,

 

Im new to duck hunting and want to get started this year.  I live in the north Houston area near Conroe and within driving distance of Livingston.  Does anyone have any experience hunting these areas?  I'd be walking in as I don't have a boat this year.  Not looking for anyone's special spot, just some tips on where to head and not totally waste my time.  Being a newbie to the sport, I have no clue what I'm doing.  Suggestions welcome.
