Talk about rotten luck !!! This weekend I'm supposed to be at a friend's ranch right on the Oklahoma border trying to thin out coyotes. It is literally the first weekend I've had anything planned since New Year's. If it falls through, how late will you be checking e-mails? I should know by Thursday.

How'd the hog hunt go?

Way north Texas was wet and muddy. I shot 1 coyote and 1 doe (he has MLD permits good through the end of February) and then a buffalo showed up. Yes, a big old buffalo and no one knows where he came from. The pasture he was in is right in the middle of this 4000 acre ranch and the ranch foreman has no idea where he's from. The owner showed up that evening and has no idea where it came from. I guess it's one of those unexplained phenomena. It now appears that he will die of old age as it has been decided that he won't be shot. It's a beautiful place but a heck of a drive at over 350 miles from my house..
