First off I want to thank Duckwhacker, Wingdinger, DoubleTHunter and the rest of the guys for making me feel welcome at their hunt. These guys are the epitome of 'Southern Hospitality'

I got to the front gate of their lease at around 4:00pm Thursday afternoon. I made my first blunder by calling Bobby to let him know I was there, while he was sitting in his deer blind.  I parked at his trailer and waited for him to get back from hunting. After he returned we went over and met the rest of the guys.  They fed me a good meal and then we all sat down to watch UT demolish Arizona St. Bobby was gracious enough to let me take up residence in his trailer till in the morning. We woke up sometime after 5:00am.  Everyone got dressed to accomodate for the sub-freezing temperatures. Then we drove down to the duck lease.  Bobby and Chase (DoubleTHunter) set out the decoys along the bank. Wingdinger was showing off his new Benelli. Everyone took their positions.  There were alot of ducks flying that morning but most of them stayed high and too far out.  A few unlucky ones came in a little too close.  We stayed and hunted till a little after 9:00.  Laverne, Bobby's dog, found the last one we were looking for in the reeds.

I really shined that day, but I'm not sure which shined through more, my inexperience or my inaccuracy.  The guys were more than patient with a noob who shot at some when he shouldn't have and didn't shoot at some when he should have. Needless to say I need alot more practice. To them it may have seemed a mediocre to bad morning's hunt, but I had a great time and don't regret a moment of it. Thanks again guys for giving me this opportunity.

We really enjoyed having you, and hope that the lack of duck shooting won't spoil your apetite for duck hunting! Weather, wind, cloud cover, and just plain luck have a lot to do with duck hunting.

Mainly we just like getting together and wasting time at camp. Hopefully you will get to come with us again next year!

sounds like it was a lot of fun...regrettably, I didn't try to sign up for the free duck hunt...maybe next year...   Anyway, I do have a friend who will try to take me next year.   Lots of luck next time...
