Columbus -

The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance announced today a partnership with the Delta Waterfowl Foundation to increase outdoor education with current and future waterfowl hunters and inform them of the challenges to their hunting heritage.

Through the partnership, Delta Waterfowl chapters will set up education stations as part of the U.S. Sportsmen’s Foundation’s signature Trailblazer Adventure Program.  These stations will focus on waterfowl-hunting techniques (calling, decoy placement, blind setups, etc), waterfowl regulations, safety and ethics.

“Hunters have always been on the front lines of conservation, and this new partnership will help bring more youth hunters into to the fold to protect and preserve our culture and time-honored hunting heritage,” said Delta Waterfowl Senior Vice President John Devney.

Also as part of the new partnership, Delta Waterfowl has signed on to be part of the network created by the Sentry grassroots program. The No Cost Sentry Program unites sportsmen from coast to coast to confront threats to the outdoors lifestyle. Through instant electronic communications, “Sentries” can spread the word to thousands of sportsmen and sportswomen when threats emerge to their heritage and way of life.

Numerous celebrities have endorsed the Sentry Program, including comedian Jeff Foxworthy, Cabela’s founders Dick and Mary Cabela, outdoors personality, television host and writer Jim Zumbo, television’s Laura Francese’, and Bass Angler Sportsman Society head Tom Ricks.

“We are thrilled to be working with Delta Waterfowl to expand the reach of our Trailblazer Adventure and Sentry programs.  Considering the similar focus, dedication, and professionalism of our two organizations, it is just a natural fit,” said Bud Pidgeon, president and CEO of U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance. “Introducing youth to outdoors fun is as critical as is getting sportsmen to band together to defeat threats to our outdoor heritage.”
