The Mother of Texas Hybrid Lakes
Summary: Guide Matt Cartwright was raised on Lake Tawakoni, situated a little over an hour east of Dallas, and grew up fishing its fertile waters for everything that would tug on his line. As a teenager he discovered Ray Hubbard where he learned the location of the lake’s many humps, ridges and submerged po...
10 Decoying Tips for Light Geese
Summary: Use these helpful tactics from the experts at Ducks Unlimited to get birds to lock-on decoys, and stay locked-on: While most light goose hunters still use 1000 or more decoys in a field, using as little as 300-400 can work under ideal conditions. Any combination of full bodies, shells, si...
Calling DucksSummary: Oh yeah, like Duckwhacker said keep it to a minimum. Call enough to get thier attention and get softer as they approach and quit calling altogether when they are close in and locked up. Learn how to soft quack and only call loud for an attention getter or if they flare at a distance to get em to come back. A 4 note come back is deadly when done right. As the season goes on call less and less and depend almost solely on the whistle. Learn the pintail trill(sp) and the mallard drake whistle. Both are easy to learn and very effective late in the season.

Sounds good Jim, I have already been thinking about a duck boat. Concerning Deadwood, the show is pretty right on, it was pretty wild. They did do a lot of cussing but I think the show goes over the top. A bit of trivia. Ike Brown was a local saloon and store owner in Deadwood 8-2-1876, the day Wild Bill was shot. Ike followed Jack McCall up the street after he shot Bill, Ike clubed him down and locked him up in a cabin. Since there was no law in Deadwood, because it was Indian land and the whites weren't suppose to be there, the miners decided to hold their own trial. The judge feared for his life so he asked Ike to be the law over the trial. That is how Ike Brown became the first Sheriff of Deadwood. Not Seth Bullock. There is no restriction on shot size but I would not attempt to take a goose with anything smaller than #2 steel and that would be at close range. I've never heard of a goose tag and am not sure where you picked this up but take a look at the link below, this is the office 2010 rules for Texas waterfowling. Good luck. people steeling hunting stuff!!Summary:
Idiots are just low down and too cheap to go out and buy their own stuff. I have a buddy who scouts the grasslands for us who had a trail cam hidden and chained & locked to a tree near a huge rub line. Had been sending me some great pics of turkey and deer from a few locations he planned on putting some of our guys on. He went back to retrieve the camera to see the big monster that had been tearing up all the trees out there and found that someone had taken the time to go get bolt cutters, cut the chain and take everything. Now I know it's a big risk doing something like that on public land, but still people shouldn't have to sink so low. Makes you want to have a stakeout catch 'em in the act and snipe them right in the left butt cheek...Now if yall hear of someone getting shot in the Arse...I didn't do it...LOL! 13 results found Next Page >Showing results 1 through 10
