Contact your representative and senators!

Take Action Now!

In 2007, thanks to strong support from thousands of DU members and supporters like you, Congress appropriated more than $41 million for the North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA)! We hope you will once again take action to promote NAWCA funding on Capitol Hill! The President has shown his strong support for NAWCA by requesting an increase in funding for the upcoming fiscal year.

In the next few months Congress will consider the proposed budget of $42.6 million for NAWCA and make its own recommendation for NAWCA funding. NAWCA grants have conserved more than 23 million acres of waterfowl habitat across the continent, and the calls you make today could affect the calls you make from the blind!

Now is the time to contact your members of Congress to let them know you support increased funding for NAWCA. Ask your Congressman and Senators to demonstrate their support for NAWCA by signing a letter to the House and Senate Appropriators in favor of the highest funding level possible for NAWCA in FY 2009.

You can help get signatures on the House and Senate letters by contacting your Congressman and Senators and telling them NAWCA is a popular and effective conservation program that deserves their support.

Ask them to conserve wetlands and improve and restore waterfowl habitat, as well help to clean our waters, by funding NAWCA. Click here to send a message to your members of Congress telling them you support funding NAWCA at the highest level possible. Your letter or phone call will make a difference!

Thank you for taking action! P.S. Please take a moment after contacting your members of Congress to tell your friends about this opportunity to help waterfowl!
