Your better off getting a boat and doing some public hunting. There are no leases around you.

well im more just looking for a farmer with a tank willing to hunt it.

we use to have a spot but it got sold. also the closest public land is at the coast

Actually lake granger is about 2 1/2 hrs from you. There is some good tanks around Buda/kyle, but expect to pay heavily for the leases IF you can find any at all. If you get your public lands permit it has a great book of lakes available. give me a shout if you care to try lakes around the austin area.

you can go to the land office and get maps and land owners names and just go door to door. Sometimes a land owner my just want a helping hand with some projects or something. If you ever make it to temple area I'll be glad to take you out.

northernhunter- i have my public lands permit but i wasn't aware of any lakes close by i'll take a look. Do you hunt around the austin area?

suzybware- I've heard about those maps but where do you go to get them? Is there an actual place called the land office?

I hunt a few places within a hour or so close to austin. I'm searching for more places this year as my local hunting spot is DRY as a bone. If you decide to come hunt up this way give a call (512)-431-0941. I can't guarantee birds in the bag, but we atleast give it a try.

hello everyone looking foward to good dove hunting this year, wanting to see if any one knows of good spots to hunt in Austin area.  Originally from Corpus Christi now living in Mcdade with wife and two kids would like to find some people to hunt and have a good time.  Have a yellow lab needs work.  Have a good season .
