this is funny.., just thought i would share. i decided to make some sand hill crane silohuetts.. i found some flat gray corigated plastic at a sign shop.. i traced out some different crane positions cut em out and used some heavy steel rods slid up into the plastic for legs or stands... i painted  them with a flat light gray primer and then a coat of flat matte finish.. used a maroon color for the spot on the head and beaks were painted with blk auto primer,, and the body was brushed out with some blk accents for the rear feathers.. they look pretty darn real.. so i set them out across this field from my house to dry and blow in the wind... i made nine of them.. 3 sentry,and 6 feeders.. i went inside my house for a bit and when i came out there were a car full of mom dad and kids stopped looking across the field at what they thought were cranes they pointed them out to me. i started laughing and told them i made those and they were decoys.. then they lady got pissed off at me and said crane hunting should be outlawed and i was a murderer.....i proceeded to tell her when  all the cranes are gone ill save these decoys for her and she can come take pictures with them and i wont even charge her...lol. she told her husband to get in the car and down the road they went... to funny...guess if they fooled mrs peta the bird watcher hopefully those cranes will think the same...
