I was in dallas but now i am in orange county, right on the sabine river. What r some good public places to hunt around this area.

What are you looking to hunt?
There is some good public waterfowl hunting in the area if you put the time in scouting. Not much left as far as public land hunting for deer or hogs in the area. Most of the good type 2 public land I bow hunted years ago in your area is now leased up by hunting clubs.
The Sabine Nation Forest, about 100 miles north of you, would be my first chose for deer.
McFadden Nation refuge, about 40 miles from Orange, has some good duck and goose hunting.
You can find some public land closer to you then these suggestion, just do your home work.
It’s all about putting in the time scouting and going the extra mile when you hunt public land.
