Or are you guys hunters? We are within a month til season opener, you guys should be excited and talking it up! Whare you at?

The problem is now you were notified by email when people replied before and now you have no idea unless you check constantly.  That is the reason now.  Ask the website why they changed the format chief.  Please

Case in point...I was going to reply sooner, but got lazy and did not log in.  The "other" site automatically logs me in.  I don't get the e-mail responses at that site either, but their search feature seems to work better.  Probably not going to log on here much until that changes.

I would have to agree!  I joined this site alittle over a year ago and am dissapointed in the number of responses and replys that people get.  I do find it funny though that when I post pics of birds that I have taken, I primarily get responses asking where I was hunting and when.  I dont mind giving SOME advice, but i will not provide the latitude and longitude to these exact locatons. ESPECIALLY since they are mostly public.  Here's a thought, why dont people start a conversation on the techniques involved in killing a limit every time you hunt.  Because that is a hell of alot more important than knowing where to go.  "IMO"  I have no problem sharing info on what works for me in spread set ups, calling, or anything else.   But dont ask me where I was hunting after I spend hours of my time researching, calling the propper officials, scouting, and successfully hunting.  Maybe those of you looking for the EASY route should try doing it for yourself.  You might just learn something along the way pertaining to the sport you so call enjoy!!!  Once again, IMO!!    "Good luck this year to all of you that put in the hard work and dedication.  Hopefully I will have more pics to share coming up"

I agree..hardly any comments at all. I usually check in every other day but the other site is bursting with life. Kinda sucks too that there's now so little activity going on here now. I've met a lot of good guys on this site. Went on my first duck hunt with rfishin and now hunt with several other guys who are also committee members of our nwtf chapter. Hopefully some changes are made on here pretty soon and it livens back up....

Nice babybuck there Bluebandit. I do like this site, I am just wondering why no one else posts as much as they used to that's all. I've met some good people on this site and even hunted with a few of them. Lately though, it seems like I post on every thread and no one else really says anything. There are some threads that have hundreds of views and zero comments. I was simply asking why you guys think that is. So take a chill pill, also, telling people to go back to the other site isn't going to help much either. In fact, that kind of stuff may be the reson there has been a lack of posts here in the first place. Anyways, thanks for the inspiring and thoughtful comment and best of luck to you this season! Hope you do well.

I just barely read this today, just recently joined this sight and it seems that I'm way behind on posts. Trying to catch up! It's probably because by the time someone logs in (like myself, which is not everyday since i joined) they read the most current posts and have missed out on talking about the previous posts. Just my opinion. I think it's great that hunters and fishers get to assiciate and meet up to enjoy the outdoors together as a fraternity.

hi, these are all great comments. It is neat to read so many people care. We didn't notice that people were not getting notified if someone comments to their forum post so I will have to investigate. I have noticed our Facebook.com/TexasHuntFish, Twitter.com/TexasHuntFish and Youtube.com/ExploreTexas seem to be much more active than the forum.

We have actually been talking about adding some new features and would like to know your opinions... would you like:

1. ability to login using facebook?

2. better video player?

3. ability to upload group of photos together?

4. online chat?

5. any other ideas?

At the end of the day this site was created as a free resource for people like US to talk to each other, ask and answer questions, and find quality Texas-based small businesses to buy our hunting and fishing related products and services from.

Most forums would delete references to other "competitive" sites but the reality is I care more that we spread the word and share our knowledge - whether on TexasHuntFish.com, TexasHuntingForums.com, TexasBowHunter.com, or 2coolfishing.com. We even built the official www.TexasYouthHunting.com website for the Texas Wildlife Association and Texas Parks & Wildlife to give them a better youth oriented platform.

I must admit I have also been spending more time with the Boy Scouts, Texas Wildlife Association (www.texas-wildlife.org); Texas Youth Hunting Program, and the politically active Texas Outdoor Partners.
