It seems to be getting worse every year.  Hornhunter (on this site) got his trailer stolen last season.  As well, the rancher on who's land we hunt has had a big problem with poaching...lat year we were driving up to the gate, near the rut, and saw a huge, headless deer off to the side of the highway right next to his land.

Makes you sick.

we had people have the nerve to leave a (style) hell whatever it's called thing you cross a fence with on our property. they were crossing it and hunting while no one was there.

Idiots are just low down and too cheap to go out and buy their own stuff. I have a buddy who scouts the grasslands for us who had a trail cam hidden and chained & locked to a tree near a huge rub line. Had been sending me some great pics of turkey and deer from a few locations he planned on putting some of our guys on. He went back to retrieve the camera to see the big monster that had been tearing up all the trees out there and found that someone had taken the time to go get bolt cutters, cut the chain and take everything. Now I know it's a big risk doing something like that on public land, but still people shouldn't have to sink so low. Makes you want to have a stakeout catch 'em in the act and snipe them right in the left butt cheek...Now if yall hear of someone getting shot in the Arse...I didn't do it...LOL!

Unfortunantly this is a fact of life. There will allways be the few a-s holes that will take your stuff rather than buy it themselves. As for them low down road hunters and poachers, Texas has a very GOOD law for them. Please everyone, if you see any of those crimes happen, call the sheriff or warden. These people need to spend quality time at the hotel provided by our state!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last year we had a real problem with out of state oil field workers hunting on our place. The land owner complained to the company, after that we had several deer shot and left where they fell. We saw one pickup driving the roads on our place and when we tried to talk to them they raced to the back gate and locked it behind them. When we told the land owner, that was when he complained because only he and the oil company  had a key to that gate. Did not help us at all-----dead deer!!!!!

Do not confront anyone that is tresspassing on your property.  Try to get a good description of the person and maybe a vehicle make and model and call your local game warden and police/ sheriff dept.  Follow through with pressing charges, NOT just a tresspass warning etc.

Make sure you mark your property lines.  Use signs and purple paint to mark boundries.  During hunting season game wardens are always on the go, but they will usually make a few passes around your property.

Best advice, invite a game warden to come and hunt your property, or a local police offical.  I guarantee you they will keep your property pest free!
